This year the Tyrone Law Firm helped sponsor the Covenant Community Thanksgiving Dinner for the Homeless. Held each year, the Dinner is put on by the men in the Covenant program and former graduates of the program (“The Men of Hope”). The men help collect money for the dinner throughout the year. They shop together for the food then spend several days preparing homemade turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, corn, green beans and rolls. (Members of All Saints Episcopal Church often provide homemade desserts). The Dinner feeds from 350 to 500 homeless on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving each year. This year, most likely due to the economy, donations for the dinner were down. Tyrone Law Firm purchased $500.00 worth of additional turkeys for the men to prepare so they didn’t run out of food. Nelson Tyrone has been a Member of the Board of Covenant since 2007 and has participated in the Thanksgiving Dinner each year since 2000. Nelson and the men (and another board member) are seen below shopping for groceries at Sam’s Club the Saturday before Thanksgiving.
